yoga teacher training taster afternoon

a genuine taste of how we’ll learn together

In this taster afternoon, we will start off with an anatomy session. One of the concerns trainees often have is whether they will be able to understand and retain the anatomy.

Over the years I've cultivated a style of teaching that absolutely prioritises applied learning. So, not learning a bunch of anatomical terms for the sake of it, but learning how the body moves, and as yoga teachers in training, how we prioritise safe movement. I'd love to give you a taster of this, so, we'll start our afternoon by learning about spine anatomy made straightforward and relevant to practice, followed by a backbend clinic to help you approach backbends safely and confidently.

This will be complemented with a Hatha and Yin practice with me, further compounding what we've learned about the spine.

Then, it'll be time to learn about yoga philosophy, with reflective journal prompts to take home. I teach yoga philosophy, not because I should but because I genuinely, with every cell of my being, believe it to be useful.... no not useful... life changing. Even in our fast paced, modern day lives, I find ancient philosophy to be a solace and a guide, and I'll be sharing a few of the most useful, and immediately applicable lessons, with you.

We'll then talk about the practical bits about how the training rolls out, what we learn in each block and how you can expect your knowledge to build, and what happens after you qualify, too. It's set to be an absolutely great afternoon!

“I started teacher training at Yoga Hero with mixed emotions. I was self conscious, anxious, and more than a little excited. I thought that we would be doing lots of yoga poses and looking at human anatomy, but I was soon to discover a training programme that was far more rich, nuanced and immersive than I had ever imagined.

I finished the course feeling fully confident to teach, and also equipped with some invaluable yoga business knowledge. Equally important were the friendships and connections that I made with my fellow trainees.

My life has been truly enriched by the training and I would recommend the course without hesitation.”

As a reminder, for yoga teacher training:

You do not already need to be confident, you do not need to be able to do certain poses, you don't need to know Sanskrit... You don't need to know that you want to teach yoga, you don't need to be a certain age or body shape or size.

You do need:

- to have practiced yoga for two years or more

- to have a deep passion for yoga

- to have a burning desire to learn more about all of yoga
