Floating back to work - The WHY behind the lunchtime yoga reset
My love of yoga began at lunchtime. After a few mishaps at the gym - and then a lunchtime Pilates class coming to an end - I reluctantly gave yoga a try. I expected awkward hand-holding and sitting in a circle; instead, I loved it and floated back to work.
That feeling stayed with me, and now I’d love to invite you to have that feeling, from my online Lunchtime Yoga Reset, every Friday.
In this episode, I share how lunchtime classes changed my working day, why I created this new class, and how I make yoga welcoming for beginners and experienced students alike.

Transcript - Floating back to work - The WHY behind the lunchtime yoga reset
My love of yoga started with lunchtime classes. I'd been going to the gym in my lunch hour for a while, but I always forgot, [00:01:00] you know, my sports bra, a padlock for the locker. I mean, one day I turned up with one trainer. After whinging to my mum about how frustrating it was to try to get to the gym on my lunch hour but then not be able to actually use the gym 'cause I kept forgetting things, she suggested Pilates, as it didn't necessarily need to change out the leggings I was probably wearing anyway, and I wouldn't need a shower afterwards.
So lunchtime Pilates it was. We found a class nearby. We went week in, week out until the teacher moved away. And then someone at work suggested yoga, and I said, "Uh, no thank you. I do not want to be sat in a circle holding hands with people that I do not know." However, thankfully, someone more open-minded said, "Well, that probably won't happen," and we gave it a go.
And I [00:02:00] distinctly remember floating back to work. It was really something. I didn't look back. I went at lunchtime as often as I could right up until training as a yoga teacher. In fact, when I left that job to teach yoga full-time, the boss of the company thought I'd been lying about going to yoga and was in fact sneaking off to smoke things that might make you feel calmer.
It made that much of a difference to my mental state each lunchtime. So with all that in mind, I extend an invitation to you to join me for my new lunchtime yoga reset. every Friday. I've worked hard to make these classes accessibly priced, so it's just £7.50 per session or five for 25 pounds.
I'm sure you've worked this out already. It took me a little [00:03:00] while too, but that's £5 per session. and you don't even have to come on five consecutive weeks. And the class itself is designed to be really accessible too. I've been teaching yoga so long now. I'm really happy providing options and layers in the poses and in the sequences.
So whether you're wanting something really nice and calming or something actually quite fiery and challenging, you'll get it in this class. All you need is your yoga mat or some non-slippy flooring, some comfortable clothes you can move about in, a device to join the class.
You don't have to have your camera on. That's totally up to you, and that's it. you do not need previous yoga experience. In fact, yoga newbies are very, very welcome. You don't need fancy leggings, and you don't need to be able to touch your toes.
I would absolutely love you to join me for the reset and to [00:04:00] float back to work or wherever you're going on your Friday afternoon. The link to book is in the show notes, And if you have any questions, just get in touch. As always, happy practicing.
