breath is life

majorcan yoga and pranayama immersion & training

Explore the science, anatomy and art of breathing.

Designed for yoga teachers, trainees, and committed practitioners, this training blends practical techniques, embodied learning, and clear, accessible theory - all in the beautiful setting of the Majorcan countryside.

You’ll learn how breath shapes posture, the nervous system, movement, emotional regulation, digestion, sleep and whole-person wellbeing. Expect to graduate with an integrated understanding of respiratory anatomy and physiology, and how to teach powerful, safe, evidence-based breath practices with confidence.

Course objectives:

  • Build a comprehensive understanding of respiratory anatomy and physiology

  • Apply foundational and advanced pranayama techniques in your life and your yoga offerings, in a safe and beneficial way

  • Analyse breathing function and patterns including accessory breathing vs diaphragmatic breathing, and help yourself and your yogis improve breathing function

  • Assess how breath function influences other bodily systems including nervous system regulation, cardiovascular health, digestive function, immune and lymphatic function and sleep

  • Teach breath-led practices with clarity and confidence, selecting techniques that down-regulate, up-regulate or stabilise based on your intention

  • Create breath-centred class plans, workshops and courses that bring together yoga philosophy and modern evidence, aligning pranayama with your other sequencing and theming intentions

  • Incorporate evidence-based research on breath and wellbeing into your yoga teaching, communicating the benefits of functional breathing in a grounded, accessible way

the plan

We have a truly wonderful seven days planned for you in Majorca. Let's take a sneak peek!:

☕️ Morning tea, coffee and fruit

Fuel as you need it. (Very delicious fuel).

🧘‍♀️ Morning meditation

Including optional journalling time.

Starting the day this way is like taking a shower for your mind; clearing away the fuzziness of sleep and dreams and getting focused and calm for the day ahead. Whether you're an experienced meditator, or you're considering starting a meditation practice, you're welcome here.

☀️ Solar yoga flow

A delicious yoga practice to fire up the body and mind ready for a day of immersing!

Either Susi or Holly will lead you through a solar flow... What is a solar flow?

Solar refers to the 'Ha' of Hatha. The yang of yin and yang. The activating part of us; the energising, ambitious, on the go. You can expect to be guided through a practice that will activate and energise, and that will challenge you; that might be physically, mentally, or both. But worry not. Susi and Holly both take great pride in balancing the challenge in their classes with compassion; you'll never feel left behind (because you'll never be left behind.). Expect variations for your energy level and intention so you can build a solar flow that's perfect for how you're feeling each day.

Our intention is that each class will help you deepen the connection with your body, with how strong you are (probably stronger than you think) and will help you find the balance we all strive for; that balance between activation and relaxation.

We will also invite you to experiment with inversions - such as headstand and handstand, and arm balances - such as crow, as and when you feel ready. There's always somewhere to take your asana practice and we can't wait to explore that with you!

🫁 Dedicated pranayama practice

Put your learnings into practice with our short but wholly important dedicated pranayama practice time.

🥐 Brunch

Yummy! Need we say more?!

📚 Morning lectures

Dive deep into the world of breath is life, with respiratory anatomy and physiology and the impact of the breath on other bodily systems.

🏊‍♀️ Siesta and snacks

Sunbathing, swimming, sleeping, snacking, it's up to you, yogi!

📚 Afternoon lectures

Our learning continues, complete with experiential learning, workshops in groups and so much more.

🌙 Lunar yoga practice

Susi or Holly will guide you through a calming, slow, divine yoga practice using yin, restorative or yoga nidra (or all three!), allowing the mind to settle and consolidating the day's learnings.

Just as our solar flow was the activating part; this lunar yoga is the relaxation part. Here, the balance is restored. Your job here is to let go and let Susi or Holly lead you to peace. Expect plenty of props, deep comfort and a journey inwards. Bliss.

🌮 Dinner

Yummy!

    • understand how breathing actually works, from diaphragm mechanics to lung structure, respiratory phases, ventilation, oxygenation, and CO₂ tolerance

    • learn how stress changes breathing patterns, and how those patterns affect posture, muscle recruitment and overall wellbeing

    • explore a full range of foundational and intermediate pranayama practices, including breath awareness, ratio breathing, nadi shodhana, viloma, bhramari and breath retention

    • understand the purpose and benefits of each technique, its effect on the nervous system, and how to guide it safely

    • learn how to adapt pranayama for anxiety, fatigue, dysregulation or low energy, and how to pace breathwork in a way that supports rather than overwhelms

    • dive into how functional breath supports the whole body: digestion, heart health, sleep regulation, immune function, posture, core stability and pain perception

    • through accessible physiology and real-world examples, you’ll gain a whole-body understanding of why the breath is foundational to health

    • be able to confidently communicate these benefits to students in an empowering, non-technical way

    • learn how to confidently integrate breathwork into your teaching: from subtle breath cues in asana, to stand-alone pranayama practices, to breath-led sequencing

    • explore clear cueing, pacing, trauma-sensitive considerations, and how to adapt breathwork for mixed-ability groups

    • practise teaching in small groups to receive feedback and support

    • review accessible, up-to-date research on breathwork, nervous system regulation and wellbeing

    • explore how bring the science into your teaching in a grounded, digestible way, without jargon. You’ll be able to explain the “why” behind your breath cues and techniques, strengthening your confidence and professional credibility.

    • nurture your own self-care and wellbeing through the knowing and embodiment of the practices

    • connect with a supportive community of fellow yoga teachers

join us!

Holly has been practicing yoga since 2010, and teaching since 2013. Holly embarked upon her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training here in Leeds, and after balancing a full time job and teaching yoga for just six months, went full time in to teaching.

Holly is an experienced Ashtanga, Rocket, Vinyasa Flow, Yin and Restorative Yoga teacher, and the diversity across these disciplines combined with her passion for spreading the benefits of yoga, her dedication to make teachers be the best they can be and her ongoing study of philosophy, anatomy and asana, mean that teacher trainees receive a vital combination of learning about the many aspects of yoga practice, philosophy, and teaching.

Aside from teaching and practising yoga, Holly loves to walk her pug, see friends and family, have the odd beer and explore the world.

Susi is an absolute ray of sunshine. No doubt you’ll have been to some of her classes… but just in case you haven’t, you’d probably like to know that Susi is incredible at nudging you towards the edge of your comfort zone, but in a way that you feel completely at ease, and supported.

Over the last few years, Susi’s classes have focused more and more on the breath, which has had a noticeably positive impact on those in her classes. This lead Susi to study respiratory anatomy and subsequently, its impact on whole-person wellbeing. And now, she’s sharing her insights with you.

Holly’s approach to teaching is beautiful – everything is delivered in a non judgemental, accessible and friendly way.

Thank you to Holly for creating such a fabulous course.
